SEE ALSO 52225 Senate No.31 The Committee on the Judiciary examined An Act to empower William Vans to prosecute his claim again the executor of
John Codman, dec. and on March 5, 1832 submitted a report. The bill gave Vans leave to make a claim long after the statute of limitations had run. The
Supreme Judicial Court heard a similar case in which it said the Legislature had not the authority to suspend a law to benefit an individual. The
