See ALSO 52255, 52270 Senate No. 18 On February 11, 1832, the Committee on the Judiciary reported An Act concerning arrest and imprisonment on
civil actions, 1832. This was the procedure for giving bond to avoid imprisonment for debt. The person would have 90 days to pay all charges, but
failing to do so meant surrendering at the jail after all. There was proposed language for the bond document. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title

The Committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred so much of the Governor's message as relates to insolvency and imprisonment for debt, and also the petitions of Thomas H. Perkins and others, and Samuel Hinckley and others, praying for the relief of poor debtors, report a bill.
