Senate. Concurrence on House bill on turnpike roads, 1832
|
|
Senate No. 11 On January 23, 1832, the Committee on Roads and Bridges reported An Act in addition to an act to establish County Commissioners and to repeal several several acts establishing the Court of Sessions and in addition thereto, and the establishing the Commissioners of Highways, 1832. The County Commissioners were authorized to lay out any turnpike as a public road and could accept the surrender of the deed of any private turnpike so it could be a county road. The Commissioners were to negotiate the sale of such deeds. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
