Description and Holding Information
House. Order for Attorney and Solicitor General to report on costs and statistics, 1831
House No. 1 On March 17, 1831, the Legislature ordered the Attorney General and Solicitor General to submit activity statistics and financial
reports for 1826-1830 to the Commonwealth Secretary. The county attorneys were directed to do the same. Once the data was received, the Secretary
forwarded the information to the Legislature on May 27, 1831. The Attorney General's report was from p. 4-9. The Solicitor General's report was from page
10-38. He seemed to fear the report was to accuse him of inactivity and he was indignant. The County Attorneys' report were from p.39-69, but not all
of them had reported by the deadline. The methods of report maintenance varied widely. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by
the Massachusetts State Library).
