Senate. Comm. on Accounts. Report on repeal of all laws in support of state paupers, 1831
|
|
Senate No. 11 On May 28, 1831, the Committee on Accounts was directed to consider a complete repeal of all laws supporting state paupers. The House concurred on May 30, 1831. The Committee reported it was not expedient to abandon the paupers that way. It wanted to give a recent new law time to work so there could be good data. It would be inhumane to just drop all support immediately. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
