House No. 46 A Select Committee of two Senators and three Representatives reported An Act in addition to ... an act for preventing fraud in the
admeasurement of salt and grain, 1831. Towns to which grain was brought by water were to appoint a Measurer for Grain, who could appoint deputies. These
men were to maintain sets of lawful measures and be paid 1/4c for each bushel measured. Retail grain in stores was also to be measured. (Digitized
