House No. 28 A Select Committee of fourteen men reported An Act limiting the tenure of office and establishing the salaries for Clerks of the
Judicial Courts, 1831. The judges of the Supreme Judicial Court were to appoint the Clerks of the Court for the various counties to a five year term,
serving at the pleasure of the Court. The Clerks were to care for the records and the monies received by each Court. There was a long list of the
salaries of the Clerks, which varied by county. They were also entitled to certain fees. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
Massachusetts State Library).
