Senate No. 10 On February 13, 1828, the Joint Committee on Public Lands, which had studied the division of land between Maine and Massachusetts,
said there remained a large tract of pine land that was expensive to protect from poachers and fire. The Committee unanimously recommended the land be
sold without raising the price. Resolved: all documents held by the Committee be transferred to the Land Office. The agents appointed in January
1823 should focus on selling the pine lands for the best price they can negotiate. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
