H.R. No. 81 An Act in further addition ... for the suppressing and punishing of rogues, vagabonds, common beggars, and other idle, disorderly and
lewd persons, 1827. [Page 2 bled into page 1.] There was a list of persons liable for the keep of any of the above if one were committed to a House of
Correction. If friends or relatives wanted to discharge a lunatic before the person was "restored to reason," such people had to post a bond for the
