House. Act to establish the Warren Bridge Corporation, 1827
SEE ALSO 51827, 51831, 51889, 51890, 51904 H.R. No. 70 An Act to establish the Warren Bridge Corporation, 1827. Five men and others formed the
Warren Bridge Corporation, authorized to build a free bridge with draws in a named location and to build piers and wharves. Unstated measurements for
the span were in the bill. The Corporation had to buy any land it needed for the purpose, never charge any toll, and had to maintain the span in good
repair with smooth operation. It had an unstated number of years to complete the project or the bill was void. If the City of Boston took over the
bridge, the Corporation no longer was responsible for its maintenance. There was a procedure for claiming damages against the Corporation. (Digitized
from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
