H.R. No. 46 An Act relating to the attachment of real estate, and to deputy sheriffs and gaolers, 1827. Any officer who attached real estate had 48 hours to submit a detailed written report to the Court of record and the clerk of the Town where the property was. The act listed all the fees for looking at and acquiring a copy of the attachment certificate. A deputy sheriff had to live in the county where he was an officer. The gaoler of any jurisdiction had to allow someone to see the debtors' calendar for a fee of 6 cents and if he refused to do so, was heavily fined. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
