House. Act fixing compensation for legislators and others, 1827
SEE ALSO 51792 H.R. No. 22 This appears to be the same text as 51792. An Act fixing the compensation of the Counsellors, Senators, and
Representatives and to equalize the expenses of legislation, 1827. Each of the people listed received $2/day while working and $2/day for every 20 miles
traveled to get to the capitol. The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House each received $2/day extra to cover their extra work. Each
jurisdiction with multiple representatives could only send half that number on the state's dime; anyone else had to paid for by the jurisdiction. Any
jurisdiction entitled to just one representative had to pay for every other year of that person's attendance. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
