SEE ALSO 51839 H.R. No. 15 An Act to regulate the weighing of merchandize and other commodities, 1827. That which used to be weighed as gross or
avoirdupois would now be weighed in decimal hundreds and pounds. Contracts would be written this way and every public weigher was to use this method
and issue certificates in this fashion. Every weigher in any circumstance was henceforth a public weigher. There was a $5 fine for each offense.
