SEE ALSO 51755, 51803 Senate No. 24 An Act ... for the government and regulation of the state prison, and defining the powers and duties of the
officers of the same, 1827. The Warden was to appoint all officers not appointed by the Governor. The Warden managed all aspects of the prison. When
contracts for supplies all came in higher than the Board of Inspectors wanted, the Warden was to negotiate for the best contract he could get.
