Senate. Act on regulating elections, 1827

If a person fulfills the other constitutional requirements for voting, said person cannot be denied the privilege even if he is exempt from paying
taxes. The mayor of a town, or his designee, must place the names on the election rolls; failure to do so would result in a fine. (Digitized from a
