SEE ALSO 51787 On June 7, 1826, the Governor's speech on Massachusetts' claim for reimbursement for militia expenses in the War of 1812 was referred to a small House Committee for discussion. On June 16, 1826, the Committee reported that they agreed with the Governor's assessment that the state had been treated poorly by the federal government and that it was important to continue to fight for the money. The Committee recommended supporting an agent for the purpose in Washington as displayed in the attached Resolves. However, the Resolves are not present.
