House. Comm. to Have an Index Prepared of the Legislative Journals. Report, 1826
On June 3, 1826, a committee to consider indexing the Journals of the House, creating a general index to all the volumes, and establishing a uniform
system of paging, made its report. In 46 years, there had been 113 sessions. The committee discussed past binding patterns and suggested that each
volume be paged for ease of indexing. The committee suggested indexing all volumes that lacked same. It further recommended making a copy of the
complete run, since some volumes were in short supply, and further recommended finding fire proof storage for at least one set. The House accepted the
recommendations. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
