Senate. Comm. on Mass.-Conn. Boundary. Report, 1826

On January 27, 1826 The Committee to study the boundary between Massachusetts and Connecticut submitted its report. In 1713, it was decided by the
two states that towns that straddled the state line mostly to the south of the line would go to Massachusetts and those mostly north of the line would
go to Connecticut. There was more difficulty at about the time of the Revolution, but in 1803, referees decided that issue. In 1825, certain
residents of Southwick, Massachusetts, petitioned to belong to Connecticut. The Senate Committee discovered the same people had earlier petitioned to belong
to Massachusetts, so the committee submitted a Resolve to disallow any change in the boundary. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally

The committee to whom was referred so much of the governor's message as relates to the boundary line between this commonwealth, and the state of Connecticut, have attended to the duty assigned them, and ask leave respectfully to report.
