House. Comm. on Mills. Report, 1825
On February 17, 1825, The House Committee on Mills reported on amendments to a document that is not present. "Mill-dam" was inserted in many places
that had formerly been just "mill." The court could summon a jury to determine mill-dam damages. If the mill-dam owner offered a sum of money to a
person damaged by the mill-dam, and that person would not accept the offer, the mill-dam owner should file the offer money with the court to await the
result of a court case. The complainant may not get more than the jury award. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the
Massachusetts State Library).
