Joint Comm. on Reversionary Interest in the Charles River Bridge. Report, 1825
SEE ALSO 51670 On February 15, 1825, the Committee of Both Houses reported some additions and changes to the proposed legislation about the Charles
River Bridge. The Commonwealth would own 1/4 of the bridge. There followed a long list of reduced tolls, such as for a single horse, cart, wagon,
sled or sleigh, 5 cents. The Treasurer of the Commonwealth and one other person would sit on the Board. If the Commonwealth chooses to build another
bridge over the Charles River, its 1/4 interest would revert to the Corporation. The Corporation must agree to the terms by April 1. the
Commonwealth's share of the tolls goes to its school fund. There was a short chart of toll reductions at the end. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
