This Joint Committee of the General Court was tasked with determining salaries of some government officials during a time of retrenchment in 1824. The group recommended annual salaries for the Governor and other senior officials to be $3,000 for the Governor down to $700 for the second clerk in the Secretary and Treasurer's offices.
