General Court. Act amending the Act on religious freedom, 1824 [version 1]

Apparently, in 1824, people could be taxed to support Public Worship. This is version 1 of an amendment to the Act on Religious Freedom. If a
person wished to leave a Religious Society, s/he had to show a certificate from the new Society to the clerk of the former Society and receive a sort of
leaving certificate. Any taxes or pledges owed before the move had to be paid. If a person moved to a new Town, it was assumed s/he belonged to the
oldest Religious Society in that Town unless the new person proved otherwise. However, no one could be taxed to support a religious institution of
