1776 - Reprints of the Journal of the Virginia House of Delegates of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The 1776 reprint was printed by Samuel Shepard
and Company in Richmond in 1828; thereafter Thomas W. White reprinted the journals in Richmond, beginning 1827. Of note, this legislative body was
called the House of Burgess prior to 1776 and met as the House of Delegates for the first time on October 7, 1776. (The Early State Records Collection is
