1769, Livingston, Address to the House of Assembly
|
|
A 1769 pamphlet entitled "The Address of Mr. Justice Livingston, in support of his right to a seat." The address of Robert Livingston was a result of an act passed in the prior session of the House excluding Supreme Court justices from a seat in the House. So excluded, the judge addressed the House in order to persuade them to allow him to become a representative. (Source of the digitized copy: New York Historical Society Library).
