Selective Service Law Reporter; The Newsletter Portion: n.a., Vol. 1-6, April 1968 to Dec., 1973, all published. (The SSLR was originally issued as a
quasi-looseleaf publication, with post-binders and separate sections into which pages of new ma-terial were filed as they arrived monthly. However,
except for a few indices and case tables, all of the pages were intended for permanent retention; so that, at the end of a volume year, the accumulated
materials in that year’s binder could as well have been bound as a perma-nent unit. While this method of organizing diverse categories of material
worked well when the relevant time frame might be months or a year, the annual closing of each volume now complicates searching over the entire life of
the publication. To simplify the use of this material online, while preserving every page for historical purposes, LLMC has consolidated all years
under six separately-cataloged titles that follow the section designations of the original publication. These are: Newsletters (the present title) A
Practice Manual of Selective Service Law Recent Decisions Statutes and Regulatory Materials Articles and Comments Section Miscellaneous Issuances
LLMC extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Tom Alder of the Public Law Education Institute (PLEI) for granting a non-exclusive copyright use
permitting the republication and online presentation of these SSLR titles. Users are reminded that PLEI retains its copyright to this material for all other
purposes. The SSLR was the major reference source covering the administration of the Selective Service System (the U.S. conscription system for
staffing the military) during one of the most explosive periods in U.S. draft law history — the Nixon Administration and the height of the anti-Vietnam War
protests. In unequaled depth, it provided news & analysis of legal developments, scholarly legal articles, and superb coverage of both the statutes
and caselaw generated during this fecund period of selective service law development. For many of the case reports, the SSLR is the sole published
source. It was succeeded in 1973 by the Military Law Reporter, which is also offered on this site.)
