States Army, submitted the thesis in April 1968. This paper examined a "pragmatic approach" to the "time of war" provision of Article 43(a), Uniform Code
of Military Justice, as applied to the Vietnam conflict. The thesis looked at the the judicial handling of defacto war situations to determine if and
when "time of war begins, and the applicability of same outside the zone of combat, specifically the escalation of the Vietnam controversy.
