Thesis from the Judge Advocate General's School entitled "Treatment of Military Youthful Offenders." Maj.Steven Chucala, United States Army,
submitted the thesis in April 1969. This paper compared the treatment under the Federal Youth Corrections Act, 18 U.S.C. 402, with that of soldier
offenders of comparable age. The thesis considered methods to integrate soldier-offenders into the federal treatment plan or steps necessary to establish a
similar procedure in the services; statutory and administrative changes necessary to establish such a program; and a discussion of the desirability of
a youthful offender program for the services, including its possible effect on discipline.
