Captain Abraham W. P. Chu submitted the thesis in April 1968. This paper was a comparative study of the nature of martial law in the common and civil law systems and the applications of the general principles of Chinese Martial Law to the conduct of operations by the military field judiciary during the recovery of mainland territory by the Republic of China.
