Islands in 1870. Immediately after the cession of Fiji to Great Britain in 1874, he applied for a Crown grant which was denied. This is the Answer
filed by Great Britain during the arbitration. The arbitral tribunal awarded the United States nominal damages. The decision may be found in Reports of
International Arbitral Awards, Vol. VI, pp.109-112.)
