James Cecil Walter Pereira's treatise, "Institutes of the Laws of Ceylon, Volume 1" was published in 1901 by H.C. Cottle, Acting Government Printer,
in Colombo, Ceylon. This treatise revised and updated Mr. Justice Thomson' "Institutes of the Laws of Ceylon" which was published thirty-eight years
prior. An extensive table of contents detailed all the various topics, as well as an appendix index.
