Frederic Austin Hayley's "A Treatise on the Laws and Customs of the Sinhalese: including the portions still surviving under the name Kandyan Law."
This treatise was published by H.W. Cave & Co. in 1923 in Colombo, Ceylon. The preface indicated that this treatise examined the legal customs of the
Sinhalese and the then current Kandyan Law as administered in the courts. Also included was a short history, table of contents, appendices
(containing numerous notes on marriage ceremonies, castes, deeds, and other subjects, as well as a copy of the Proclamation of November 1818, ceding this
province to England), and an index.
