Vocabulary of Law As it Existed in the last days of the Kandyan Kingdom
The Vocabulary of Law as it existed in the last days of the Kandyan Kingdom, translated and edited by Cecil J. R. LeMesurier and T.B. Pa'Nabokke.
The source of the material was primarily from Sir John D'Oyle's notes, a member of the Board of Commissioners (the appendix has a transcript of some of
these notes). Following the cession of the Kandyan Province to the England, the Home Government requested that there be an account of the ancient
institutions, customs, feelings and prejudices of the Kandyan people. The treatise was published by William Henry Herbert, Government Printer in Colombo,
Ceylon in 1880.
