On the Force and Effects of Custom According to the Civil Law Contracted in Malta, 1893
A. Dingli's essay "On the Force and Effects of Custom According to the Civil (Roman) Law: with reference to the validity of certain marriages
contracted in Malta." It was printed by E. Laferia in Malta in 1893. In this essay. the author supported his proposed interpretation of Malta marriage law to
conclude that non-Catholics married according to their religious community should have the same validity as those of a Roman Catholic marriage
performed by a priest. He supported this position with examples from civil (Roman) law, as well as commentaries, some of which are in Latin. There is a
preface and appendix in this document.
