Duhigg, History of the King's Inns, 1806
This work deals with the inn of court in Ireland. Contents in three parts: Pt. 1. To the death of Elizabeth. Pt. 2. From the accession of James I
to the death of Lord Chancellor Bowes in 1767. Pt. 3. From the death of Lord Chancellor Bowes in 1767 to Michaelmas term, 1806. Errata are listed at
the end of parts 2 and 3. There is no index or table of contents. A copy of the General Rules with editorial footnotes is reprinted on pp. 583-607.
Excerpts from the society’s accounts and some brief biographical information can be found throughout the work. The over all tone is unapologetically
pro-English beginning with the dedication to the Duke of Kent, father of the future Queen Victoria, and effusive references to the “glorious reign” of
Queen Elisabeth I.
