Sullivan, Speech of A.M. Sullivan, on behalf of Mr. Patrick Egan, 1881?

After his speech of 1 and ¾ hours, Mr. Sullivan was greeting with applause and cheers at the conclusion of his speech. His client, Patrick Egan along with Charles Stewart Parnell, was charged with conspiracy against the Crown. The jury who considered the charges for about 5 hours could not agree unanimously to convict. They were discharged.
