(This compilation serves as a review, from the French metropolitan viewpoint, of the situation in Saint-Domingue during the tumultuous revolutionary years 1793-1794, when France was represented in the colony by Henry Perroud, Ordonnateur General on the civilian side, with General Etienne Leveaux commanding the military. The compilation consists of reprints of several contemporary reports by Henry Perroud and others on developments in Saint-Domingue, extracts from the deliberations of various provincial assemblies, statistical reports on trade and production, and, starting with p. 89, proclamations, ordinances & regulations issued for the governance of the colony under the authority of Perroud, General Lauveaux, and others.
