Firmin, Open letter to Society of Legislation, Port-au-Prince, 1904
Lettre ouverte aux membres de la Société de Législation de Port-au-Prince: by Joseph-Anténor Firmin, 19p, Basse-Terre,
Guadeloupe, Imp. Ouvrière [1904]. (The LC copy of this book had the author’s name ripped out of the title page. LC cataloging provids the author’s
identity as Firmin, Joseph-Anténor, 1850-1911. Firmin is protesting proposed legislation which is at least partially intended to comply to certain
pressures from the United States. His own attitude is adequately summarized by a legend appearing on a leaf preceding the back cover: “POUR PARAITRE
PROCHAINEMENT M. ROOSEVELT, Président des Etats-Unis ET LA RÉPUBLIQUE D’HAITI.” The entire text is in French.)
